Amazing place and breath-taking scenery. We loved every minute of our time there. One day the weather was perfect for a stroll up to the gazebo and down pass the house to talk to the cows, while the next day it lightly snowed all day. Perfect for relaxing and reconnecting and taking time away from the fast-paced life of the everyday. My girlfriend and I have rented smaller homes for the pass couple of years and by far this is our favorite. Landon was a great host and the house had everything you would need.

We spent our 3 years anniversary at this beautiful home and we will always remember this place ! We definitely will be back. The seclusion was so peaceful with being high on the mountain. The farm animals in the distant were the absolute perfect touch to see while waking up in the morning, so many baby calves and ponies we got to see ! The bedroom bed was probably the comfiest bed we ever slept on while being away. Highly recommend!

We wanted an escape and a chance to unplug and got exactly that. The living room has a 270 degree view which was stunning, especially since the ground was snow covered and there was a full moon at night. Considering there was a recent snow, all of the roads were clear and the driveway was plowed. It was perfectly clean. Would absolutely recommend to a couple who need a quiet get away.

The place is exactly what it is in the listing - small plastic (not wood) cabin on the hill, you can see far away on the mountains from large windows of the living room - on all sides! Comfortable couch you can read and chill and look at the window (no tv in the living room). Kitchen is small but has all the basics, no built in stove but has a plug in tabletop one. No dishwasher, small fridge - all is enough for a couple nights of basic stay. Bathroom has everything you need, did not use hot tub. One major thing I minded was that it was in the middle of the field where cows graze so you are looking at a lot of cow poop - so no desire to use the hot tub. The large vast views were beautiful, but not immediate in front of you. The bed was very comfortable. It was warm and cozy. Communication was very responsive and they accommodated all my special requests. The copy/paste guide that was shared ahead of time was not seasonally adjusted so it had things that were closed.

Very beautiful and peaceful stay! We were able to cook and enjoy several meals with the mini kitchen. We also got to enjoy the hot tub although it was cold outside, I highly suggest still going for it. You don’t even feel the cold once you’re in the hot tub and it’s perfect to watch the sunset in. The sheets were also soo comfy!! Would highly recommend.

We had an unbelievably beautiful, peaceful stay here. The 360° views of the mountains, whether we were inside or outside, never got old. The hot tub and fire pit were great, and the visiting horses were a lovely surprise. I'd recommend downloading a movie before coming since the WiFi is super spotty, but we were happy with the views as our entertainment anyway. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare simple meals, and the host was responsive to all my questions. Would recommend!

We spent our 20th anniversary at this beautiful location, and it truly felt like a slice of heaven. A tiny home in the middle of the mountains! The starry skies in the hot tub and breathtaking mountain views with coffee on the deck were the perfect backdrop for reflecting on two decades together. It was a peaceful escape from the distractions of everyday life, allowing us to focus on each other and savor the serenity. The tranquil atmosphere made for an unforgettable, relaxing experience. My boyfriend and I went to this little modern cabin in paradise for his birthday, and it was everything and more than described and pictured. The view from the balcony is absolutely breathtaking. While relaxing in the hot tub and enjoying the view it never gets old to look at. To our surprise there was also cows! If you walk up the hill to the pavilion there is a friendly herd of cattle. They will greet you and some of them will try to sniff you. We had an absolutely amazing experience and we will definitely be coming back!

This was a great little gem in the mountains of WV! Landon was responsive and very accommodating of us during our stay.
The place was clean and cozy, the views were beautiful (even the stars at night!).
Only note is this place is not secluded like I originally thought.
There is a farm to the left of the property, and so there were a few trucks going back and forth, people herding the cows and ATVs from the farm, and the occasional car for the scenic Overlook right above the property. We even got a visit from the farm dog. So we kept the curtains closed a good portion of the weekend which was a bummer.
It was pretty quiet but definitely not 100% private.
Otherwise this is a perfect getaway spot for some quiet, peace, and beautiful views. Highly recommend!

My husband and I were looking for a peaceful little cabin in the mountain and this cabin absolutely exceded our expectations. The views were breathtaking and the cabin was in perfect condition and everything we could have asked for plus so much more. They had the most beautiful views from the cozy living room overlooking the gorgeous mountains. The bedroom was very cozy. We loved the hot tub in the evening as well watched the sunset over the mountains. We definitely got what we came for. A quiet, slow, and laid back lifestyle. We were not ready for the volume of bugs in farmland, so used the fly swatter quite a bit. And the host doesn’t seem to know the property at all. But even with those inconveniences we still had a great time.

Landon's place was as advertised and thoughtfully built to be private. We had a nice time and would consider coming back sometime for a quiet getaway.
The roads getting to the place were gravel roads and somewhat bumpy. In case it is important to you, know that your car will get a bit dirty going in and out. 4WD is not required, but probably recommended.
While the AC does a quite job to cool the living room area, the bedroom got quite hot (it is also approaching peak summer). Thankfully there is a fan, though it will almost certainly dry out your skin. It did not bother us though.
As others have mentioned, there is a dog that came by at night while we were in the hot tub. We have two loving dogs of our own so it didn't bother us (and we had read the reviews prior), but this could surprise some people. The dog also peed on my car (lol) but was a good boy otherwise.
Aside from those minor things, the stay was great! No real complaints and was as advertised.

This was an amazing AirBNB and made for a perfect weekend getaway! The place was incredibly clean and check-in/out was extremely easy. Hart's Overlook was everything we wanted and more! My husband and I came here and stayed a week for our honeymoon. The pictures don't do the views justice. It is beautiful, quiet and peaceful. The tiny house was immaculate.
If you want to go somewhere where there are things to do, this is not the place, but if you want what we wanted - to get away for some serious relaxation and peace - then this is for you! I already want to go back. We definitely will be staying there again.

My wife and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary. When I suggested it my wife looked at me unsure of what I was suggesting. The state of WV is one of magic you have to see to enjoy. The house is gorgeous and the view is beyond breathtaking. We found peace and solace just sitting with each other. We heard and saw such an abundance of animals from frogs to cows to humming birds and hawks. The only things that could just be because of where the house is, is the water will shut off after limited use. The fire pits location makes using it and enjoying the view difficult. However that aside it was a magical experience and you will truly understand why WV is almost heaven.

Our brief one-night stay at Hearts Overlook was worth every cent while on our road trip across scenic WV. Beautifull panoramic views of mountains and valleys from this location. A modern cabin that was the perfect size for two; clean, comfortable, and the hot tub and fire pit were great adds but watching the sunset from this location was the best! A few miles from town so pack some food to cook at the cabin or stop on the way and grab take-out to the cabin and enjoy it while relaxing and admiring the views and company!

This place is beautiful, would definitely enjoy another stay. The tiny house was the perfect space for us to enjoy our 20th anniversary together. We could enjoy the views of the surrounding mountains and valley all day. The hot tub was a fantastic additional bit of relaxation. We also enjoyed watching the herd of cows graze nearby, and had a a friendly visitor - a Great Pyrenees, one of the farm dogs on the property! We visited 2 local restaurants in Shanks and Romney, both were great. Landon was a great communicator. We didn't need anything during our stay, but we felt that if we did he would have responded immediately. The tiniest issue we had was the shower head wouldn't flow, we had to hold down a button on it to get water to flow. I don't consider this a bad thing, we had to help each other shower, and after all it was our anniversary! The space, the host, the area were all perfect. Thanks for a memorable stay!

Was looking for a place to split up my travel home from NC to MA and Landon’s tiny house was just about in the middle! It was the perfect location with breathtaking views from inside the tiny house as well as from the outside areas on the property! The sunrise was breathtaking, with the farm views and the sounds of farm animals / birds. I would 100% stay here or another one of Landon’s properties again and will be recommending this stay to my friends and family! It was the perfect place to relax and have some much needed quiet time! We had a wonderful stay at this Airbnb! The property is absolutely beautiful, with peaceful grounds and horses roaming freely — a real treat for anyone looking to escape the city. The only small downside was that there were three dogs on the property that startled us a bit, as we are not very comfortable around them. Great location to stargaze and relax with a hottub and campfire. My wife and I found the place to be really relaxing and peaceful. A tip for anyone before they go is we arrived at night so it was a bit hard finding the airbnb, but during the day the road is a lot clearer so definitely go before sunset!

The cabin at Hart's Overlook has a great panoramic view. Very intimate and cozy cabin. The hosts provided great details on the amenities. The hot tub is awesome!Furniture is comfortable and setting is great for an intimate time. Bring food to cook while there. It is an hour drive to a major city to get to supermarkets and restaurants. This cabin is ideal for "getting away".If booking, please check weather forecast. There was dense fog on the ride up, so take a safety precautions as the roads are narrow and curvy. Also, if there are strong wind gusts, the cabin will rattle.

Gorgeous home that was perfect for a small get away! We ate at the cafe in the next town over which was not a far drive at all. The tiny home is VERY well stocked with cooking essentials- a quick run to food lion did the trick for a fabulous home cooked dinner. The home is very clean and stocked with nice quality furnishings (I went home and immediately bought similar towels). Had a bit of trouble finding the place in the dark, but the host came to my car and got me pointed in the right direction. Gorgeous views, cozy home, and a wonderful time away.

The peaceful mountain top location is absolutely breathtaking. Very private, great for star gazing, and beautiful sunsets. Even though the temperature dropped in the evening, the hot tub made it possible to stay outside and enjoy the night sky. We even received a visit from the doggies! Made our stay even more memorable. This home was amazing. Check in and check out was simple, the view was breathtaking, the pictures really don’t do a justice of how great it is. We spent all weekend enjoying the outdoors by the fire, and the hot tub was nice as well! There were a few amenities that were listed that were missing, but they didn’t affect our stay too much. Hart's Overlook was a beautiful, peaceful, clean location for a couple's getaway. We enjoyed visits from the farm dogs, taking in the landscape and animals and walking up the hill to the pavilion. Everything was spotless and the hot tub, grill and fire ring were very clean. Bed was very comfortable and there were plenty of pillows and blankets. Wi-Fi worked great. Good, clean mountain water as well. Preplan your meals, as it is a bit of a hike to local establishments, plus you won't want to leave once you get there! Would highly recommend!

Staying in this tiny luxury house perched on a picturesque mountaintop in West Virginia was nothing short of magical. The views alone are worth the trip—truly God’s country. The house itself was immaculate, pristinely kept, and equipped with everything we needed for a romantic escape. Every detail was thoughtfully considered, from the cozy interior to the outdoor amenities. The hot tub was a highlight, especially at sunset, and the charming gazebo was the perfect spot for cocktails, offering breathtaking panoramic views.
One unexpected but wonderful part of our stay was the presence of the farm dogs—they added such a special touch, making us feel even more at home. The host was incredible, offering prompt and thorough communication throughout our stay, ensuring we had everything we needed.

This place was absolutely one of the most beautiful places we have stayed! It was the perfect time to stay because the leaves had started to change substantially. We had a full moon all three nights. The rental is clean, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable. The windows make you feel like you are outside even when you are inside.
We had a few small glitches, but the host responded immediately. The funniest thing was when we woke up to sporadic water. The owner rectified that, explaining that a cow had somehow turned on a hose that was diverting our water to the herd to drink. Smart cow! The dogs, as mentioned, visited daily, but they did not bother us at all. Even when I wanted to pet one of them, it continued to lie on the deck and ignored me. One did finally roll over so I could rub its belly.
We had a wonderful time up until the last day when we received extremely bad news about the death of a friend. We definitely hope to go back under better circumstances.

This was a last-minute booking for us, and we couldn’t have been happier with it. Just two hours from DC, it transports you from the city into a beautiful, mountaintop fairytale. “My wife and I stayed at this cabin for four days, and it was absolutely gorgeous. Everything was spotless, well-organized, and had all the comforts of home. While the nearest grocery store (Food Lion) is about a 20-minute drive, we packed enough food for our stay and didn’t have to make the trip. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway, especially if you’re from the DMV area, this is the perfect place to disconnect. One of the highlights of our stay was the daily visits from the farm dogs—Boo, Shy Guy, and Bandit. At one point, we even had five dogs come by, and they were all incredibly sweet. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to relax and unwind.”

The views are spectacular! We actually had 360 degree Mountain Views from the gazebo. It’s a very comfortable spot for two people. We did have many visits from the three dogs on the property. We loved hanging out with them but if you are afraid of dogs, you might want to let the owner know ahead of your arrival. We will definitely be back to unplug and recharge in the future. Also, we stopped at Biscuits and Burgers for breakfast on our way home so glad we did, great place!

After a thorough search of places to stay along the Appalachian Mountains, Landon’s cabin stood out.
The property is absolutely gorgeous.
The views are unparalleled with anything I’ve seen and will make you want to pack your bags and move to Hampshire County in a heartbeat.
My girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Landon was very respectful, checked in on us multiple times, and was quite responsive when we needed help.
Although we ran into a hiccup with a few amenities; a little patience, and reminder that we were there to “disconnect” kept us enjoying our time in West Virginia without worry.
I will DEFINITELY be rebooking this Airbnb.
It has been my BEST experience yet on this app.
Landon is an INCREDIBLE host and can be trusted to meet all of your needs.

One of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed! Landon gave us clear instructions from the beginning to the end of our trip. He was very responsive to answer all the questions we had and very accommodating. The place was not only beautiful, but also well thought out with everything you need for your stay and some thoughtful amenities (puzzle games, q-tips, snacks, pads, etc). The house was very clean and cozy, we felt right at home. The place overlooks a stunning view of the mountains ⛰️ perfect outside seating areas, VERY clean hot tub, a grill, and a perfect fire pit to cook delicious meals. We also enjoyed going up to the gazebo, which was only a minute or two minutes walk from the place, to enjoy the beautiful sunset and sunrise. We loved the farm animals, and also got a nice surprise visit from 2 friendly farm dogs on the last day :) The weather was so perfect during our stay, and we were able to see so many starts at night! 💫 we can’t wait to come back! The pictures due the view justice. It is quiet and peaceful there. What you can’t tell from photos is how comfortable the bed is. That’s a critical feature for vacations. The bed here is nice and comfortable. We slept well during our stay.

Such an amazing stay! Scenic views with lots of privacy. The animals are a fantastic plus! Landon was very responsive. I’d suggest either using google maps or downloading on Apple Maps beforehand. Bed was super comfortable. Great restaurant and activity suggestions. Just bring some groceries (if you want to avoid driving into town for all your food) and the place has everything else you could need for the perfect hideaway in the beautiful mountains!

Highly recommend spending time in the gazebo. The views are gorgeous! The hot tub was a huge bonus. The space is comfortable and inviting. I was able to work remotely, which was also a huge plus. Super peaceful as the sheep and wildlife would wander through. A perfect place to get away to a quiet, peaceful retreat. Thank you!

Really lovely spot to retreat for a few days. The windows are stunning but can make a bit of a greenhouse effect in the afternoons if it’s >90s outside—still worth it for the view! Sunrises and sunsets are incredibly peaceful.

We came for a quiet and peaceful getaway and that is exactly what we got. The views were amazing and so were the stars at night. The house was just like the pictures showed and was spotless. Landon was great, any questions I had, he was very quick to respond. We enjoyed watching the animals and loved the dog that came to visit us!!! We even took a day and went to Wash DC and Arlington National Cemetery, only a 2 hour ride!! We would definitely stay here again!!!

Private setting with beautiful scenery and amazing sunsets. We were looking to relax while staying in a modern place with all the amenities to suite our needs and this place delivered. Farm animals are bonus, fun to watch the animals in their element especially the babies. Took a day trip to George Washington National Forest and hiked the Big Schloss trail. Highly recommend if you are into moderately strenuous hikes which deliver a rewarding view.

I want to share my wonderful experience in this little house. The location is secluded, surrounded by nature, and that was exactly what I was looking for. The peace and tranquility I found there were amazing. Being able to witness the sunrise and sunset and the starry night was magnificent.
The house itself was cozy and well-equipped, and the host was attentive and helpful. I highly recommend it for those looking for a retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the city and wanting to reconnect with nature. It was a unique and unforgettable experience. I can't wait to go back!

Had the BEST time at Landon's place! The location was stunning, better than the photos!!!, loved they had every thing we needed from a wine opener to Netflix, and the fluffy towels, blankets, rugs, it was all so luxurious. We had a difficult time finding the place on our Apple Maps, but learned Google Maps was accurate. It was well worth every penny and I can't wait to return. Perfect, perfect place!

The setting is magnificent. We set an alarm in the middle of the night to gaze at the stars. Hot tub was so heavenly, we didn’t have time to make a fire. Be careful on the West Virginia roads getting there, but it is worth the trip.
