Remote Hideaway

Awesome place, but not conducive to larger parties. We had 7 and were not able to all eat together or sit together. When I booked the property, I knew it was going to be small, but didn’t realize it was 2 houses until I sent the link to the girls. All in all, it worked out. We had a great time. The property is beautiful and well maintained.

Such a beautiful location, the views were so pretty! Both cabins were very cute! The living areas were a little tight for a group of 11, but still cozy and doable! Thankfully, we had the most perfect weather, so we were able walk around the trails and use the super nice fire pit area! Landon was a great host! Very helpful and responsive! No complaints here!

Peace and quiet with a hot tub overlooking a pretty amazing view! Would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking get away. We had a lovely stay at the Treehouse! We came as 3 families celebrating a 40th bday, and it was just what we were looking for. Lots of space for everyone to spread out and run around, beautiful views and comfortable accommodations. The location is an easy drive to Berkeley Springs too, where you can check out the warm mineral springs and the Brewery, which we did. Would definitely recommend staying here!

A great stay in a peaceful location - perfect for a retreat for solitude with a group, and the two properties are close enough to each other that it feels like staying in one place! We did have a little bit of difficulty with communication with the host - although Landon was very responsive and friendly, he didn't seem to know very much about the property and the wifi instructions were out of date so we had to find the password on a brochure in the cabin. Your mileage might vary there, but all things said I was really happy we stayed here - it was a great price for a cozy stay for a group. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again.

Beautiful secluded place to stay. Expect glamping style situations. If you are expecting pristine hotel accommodations this isn't for you. But if you like to have the necessities like a bed, heat and/or air-conditioning, fridge, stove, microwave but don't mind a muddy driveway if it rains for multiple days (fun for Jeeps ?) a campfire and outdoor bugs occasionally then this place is worth it. We stayed here for a girls week and we did laugh about the tree houses low water pressure and that we had to share some kitchen utensils, etc between the two houses. My sisters equinox didn't care for the driveway but my Jeep loved it. Beautiful and serene environment with the occasional Appalachian eerie noises in the woods way off. Quite an experience with unforgettable memories. There was no lid on the outdoor trash bin so the critters still got in the trash. Water pressure is terrible in the treehouse shower, but it's fine in the main house. Over all I'd definitely stay again!!!!

We had a wonderful time, very peaceful and fun to explore around the property. It was exactly what we wanted, nice and private with great views and a hot tub. As a party of 4 we stayed mostly in the tree house which was super cozy and nice. The lower house does have a funky smell to it, as stated in other reviews, but since we didn't stay there it didn't bother us much (only went there for showers since the water pressure was better). There is wifi at both houses so it made it easy to bounce back and forth as needed. Host was always very responsive to any issues or questions throughout our stay.

We had a beautiful stay at these cabins. The perfect place to relax and unwind with family. The area is beautiful. Lots of trails to explore around the property which we enjoyed repeatedly through our stay. The hot tub was nice, the fire pit was a delight to enjoy time as a family together, along with the propane fire pit on the deck. It’s extremely rural, but local amenities are within a reasonable distance. And the local folks were very nice! Landon was responsive and pleasant. Overall we had a truly wonderful and peaceful time here. We are considering buying some land in the area to bring our camper regularly and this trip definitely sealed the deal. This is a truly beautiful piece of Appalachia. Can’t recommend this stay enough! Bring a good bug spray, we saw some ticks even in March.

Gorgeous location and the houses were so cozy and peaceful. I would get instructions for the gas fire pit ahead of time and the WiFi was very confusing to set up and get a correct log in for. We had to wait til the second day to use everything. When John came he was extremely kind and helpful however! Would love to stay again.

Landon’s Cabin was absolutely wonderful! We arrived later in the evening so it was dark but the cabin was lit up so it was easy to spot right away. The views in the morning were incredible and we were lucky to have three days of clear skies day and night - which resulted in some of the best stargazing I’ve ever done. The cabin was cozy and inviting and we had such a good time enjoying the space with each other. The main house was great as well having a large kitchen for making meals and was fully stocked with utensils/pots/pans and all cooking essentials. Check in and out was a breeze, minimal clear instructions as well as quick responses from Landon on any issue we had. I would recommend this cabin to all!

My friends and I had a wonderful time! The host was very responsive and helpful. The lower cabin did not have wifi. It would be a good idea to put a router in that house. The 'treehouse" was not actually in a tree, which was a little disappointing, but was still a cozy and beautiful home.

We absolutely adored Landon's space! It offered remarkable privacy with two distinct spaces—the tree house and the main house. The amenities, from the fire pit to the hot tub, and the convenience of two kitchens made our stay truly extraordinary. The vast acres of land provided a surreal backdrop for our group exploration. Landon's excellent communication and flexibility, especially with the early check-in, added to the overall positive experience. This unique and spacious retreat accommodates a large group at an incredible price, and Landon's attentive care swiftly addressed any minor hiccups. Grateful for a memorable stay! Had a great time with my cousins. It was peaceful. We grilled, had a bonfire going, the bathtubs was good at night when it got chillier. It obviously gets very dark so I would recommend bringing flashlights.

The cabin was beautiful and very clean. The surroundings were very peaceful and private. We enjoyed the hot tub. Wish there would’ve been a grill located at the cabin and not just at the house. It was an inconvenience to carry your food, pans, seasoning etc down the steps and across the yard and then back, just to grill. We did not use the house, just the tree house cabin.

Landon's place in Warfordsburg was a lovely getaway for my family. Everyone was able to fit comfortably between the two homes on the property. The cabin and house were cozy, clean and peaceful with beautiful views all around. Landon communicated well throughout our stay, reminding us often that he was there if we needed anything. All the adults and 2 kids loved our respective spaces and really enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend! There are 2 separate buildings that are close together so a group of people can go back and forth easily. One is a cabin/the tree house and the other one is a regular house. The cabin was charming and warm/cozy with everything beautiful wood from top to bottom! Any window you looked out had a beautiful view of nature and landscape. Sitting on the deck with friends and their kids, enjoying a meal and each other's company overlooking a beautiful farm and rolling hills was the best! Beds were very comfortable and everything you need is provided. It was fun to be in the loft with the ladder. Landon, our host, was awesome. He got back to us quickly with any questions before, during and after and with any needs. When the coded door battery died, it was replaced and useable within hours while we were out. We didn't have time to use the fire pit or hot tub but it all looked well kept.

Our visit was very peaceful & WOW those rolling hills & views!!!! The maps were helpful. We loved seeing the cows & babies roaming around. We were a little scared with all the flies coming down the lane; but, didn't see any in homes--Thank goodness!!!
Both of your homes are beautiful & I liked that I had 2 choices of where we were staying. We preferred the tree house which was very quaint! We loved the firepit, small campfire & hot tub. Everything was clean & pristine!

We had a great time staying here! Any issues we encountered were addressed & Landon was very prompt with responses. The house is in a very remote area with nearly complete privacy (aside from a few hikers that wandered up from another property and scared us Saturday morning, lol), and the accommodations were great. My only complaint is that the trash bin outside fills quickly if you have a lot of people in your party and have longer than a 3-night stay. Since this isn't emptied until we leave, I could see it potentially attracting unwanted furry guests from the woods. Overall though, the property lived up to our expectations & we'd definitely stay here again. Thanks Landon!

If you're want real peace and quiet and to get away from it all, this place is ideal. We didn't see another human being during our entire stay. We loved that there are two houses, so we could spread out more and yet still come together for meals and game nights. The hot tub and fire pit were great places for us to relax.
There is a single Wi-Fi router, so only one house is effectively covered at a time (the device is quite portable, so can be moved to either house very easily). If a lot of people are trying to do intensive web surfing or you want to use it to watch TV in one or the other house, you'll need to plan accordingly.
We did a lot of walking along the dirt roads and enjoyed some lovely views. The property is very isolated, so there are no coffee shops or anything within walking distance, but the houses are just a few hundred yards from paved road, so if you need to drive someplace for supplies or due to an emergency, it's easy enough to do.
We'd love to go back.

This property was just splendid. Everything was pristine and clean. The property made you feel right at home! Landon was very clear with all instructions, from the start to the end of the rental. While we spent our vacation snowboarding, Landon offered walking paths and other active things to do right by the property. I was really pleased with how responsive Landon was during our stay.

I couldn’t be happier with my stay! I bought this trip for my boyfriend and a friend group of 4 (so 6 of us total) and we had more than enough space to fit all of us between the cabin and the house. The property is absolutely breathtaking. Having my morning coffee while over looking the mountains was absolutely everything! There’s a ton of cool trails with old barns and houses to explore. All essentials were made available to us and the property was very clean. You can tell the property is well maintained. We had the best weekend hiking, having fires and hanging out in the jacuzzi! .. the only let down was the jacuzzi only seats 4 people and takes a very long time to get hot but other than that everything was perfect!

Landon,
was very proactive in checking on us several times throughout our stay. pros- the location, the view from either porch is beautiful separate sleeping quarters for larger families was nice especially having 2 of all appliances. the things that could use some work. the driveway it's drivable but really could use some fresh stone laid down. the wifi is spotty and there should be wifi in both houses instead of having 1 box to pass back and forth between the 2 properties was a inconvenience if people wanted to watch Netflix etc at night time in both properties.

We had a very relaxing, quiet, peaceful long weekend. Both houses were very clean, had everything we could need and were just adorable. The hot tub was a great addition. If you’re looking for a secluded getaway, this is definitely the place. There are state parks nearby for hiking, fishing, exploring, etc and only about a 25 minute drive to restaurants and stores.

The house and the cabin is a great design. It is very nice to have both spaces. The hot tub is also a great touch and very useful even on a hot summer night. There are trails that you can walk that are mapped out in the house and the cabin. They are cool to walk and see everything outside. I highly recommend!

It is the PERFECT getaway if you want to spend time with friends and family. Had the best time of my life honestly speaking, it was very very peaceful and quiet the only loud ones there were us and noone around to even hear us but the cows who were a mile away but even the cows didn’t seem bothered at all. Felt like the home i’m looking to buy in the near future everything about the house and patio was amazing including the attic was perfect for the kids. Kids were able to roam outside as freely as they wanted with no incoming cars or strangers walking bu and us (9) adults were able to have an amazing time outside enjoying the weather and view while sipping on some nice cocktails and beers cracking jokes, laughing our lungs out. Highly recommended and such and amazing host, Landon, Thank you very very much and hope to go back again in the near future.

My best friends and I stayed at this property for our spring break. It was wonderful and Landon was a great host. We loved the view, hot tub, fire pit and beautiful cabin. We really enjoyed our time here and would definitely stay again in the future! Highly recommend!

This is a great stay for a bigger group size! Very cozy and warm in the winter weather and the place offers great amenities including a firepit, hot tub, and a grill!

The fact that you have both a regular house and a cabin is fantastic. The only down side is that it's difficult to get back and forth when the weather is bad, especially since it's dark at night and there are no lights to guide you. You will undoubtedly require flashlights. Landon is extremely responsive, and John is a wonderful person. The view is breathtaking, and watching the sunrise and sunset is a must.

This a true retreat! You feel like you are camping but with all the amenities! The views are stunning. We made sure we witnessed every sunrise and sunset.
We loved the fire pit area. The family enjoyed gathering around the fire every evening for music, conversation and s’mores. We would definitely come again!

Clean and easy stay! Beds were comfy, kitchenware and bathroom amenities were great, and both properties were cozy. Houses are pretty far apart so pack a flashlight!

Landon's place was a beautiful place to enjoy a fall weekend -- we enjoyed cooking in, seeing the leaves, and watching the sunrise/sunset from the porch. Landon was incredibly responsive and helpful, but we really didn't have many questions for him since all was easy to find, understand and get around! Highly recommend staying here with a small group - we had planned for 8, but had just as cozy of a time with four. Enjoy the fire pit with smores and a hot beverage - but don't forget your flashlight walking back to the houses at dark so you can spot anything coming out of the next door cornfield ;) Our group had a blast. The location is remote and very peaceful. Beautiful views of the fields, trees and sky. Would have liked to explore more of the outdoor walking areas, unfortunately we had a lot of rain during our time there! Even with the rain, we had everything we needed for a cozy weekend inside the cabin and enjoyed our time there relaxing and catching up. The outdoor area is lovely and we were happy to have one clear evening to sit outside by the fire, which was great. Thanks again!

Nice relaxing week-end. I would recommend a vehicle with higher clearance for the access road. We had a Ford F-150, so we were fine. A passenger car with low clearance may have issues getting down the road.

This place is remote, perfectly quite and a great family/romantic getaway destination. The views are wide open, but still nestled into the side of the woods. There is a dirt road that takes you the final half mile, but it’s very well maintained and would accommodate any vehicle. Was a terrific stay! Thanks Landon!

The property manager for this location did an excellent job fulfilling our needs! This place is adorable, nicely decorated, clean, and very peaceful! Highly recommended property if you would like to get away for a stay in the mountains.
